Late night poker

Yo! I got a bit bored and felt like posting a little something. Last night was one of the rare opportunities when we had both poker chips and a venue available, so it looked like a poker night round Patrick's was on the cards (amazing pun)! Me, Elliot, Duncan, Patrick and Jason were up until 3 playing the first game, which Jason proceeded to win. Then we played a second game which I won. I won about 15 quid but it wasn't really worth it because we were all up til gone 6!
Patrick went to bed and Duncan left early so it was down to me, Elliot and Jason to call a cab back to Aylesbury. Our poker chip set looks like a silver briefcase so we pretended it was an official 'dossier' in front of the taxi driver... He didn't understand. I've left you a couple of photos from our early morning wait for the taxi. Anyway, I ended up getting to bed about 9 this morning. Ouch.

I got up around 4 and then headed into the ends. Me, Big K and Duncan went to the cinema AGAIN, this time to see '7 Pounds'. It wasn't a bad film: Will Smith was excellent in it and there were some moving moments, however I felt like it was let down by how long it took to get started and too much dialogue. It was a bit predictable too and the story line wasn't anything special... Six out of ten! Valkyrie (which we saw last night) wasn't much different. It got off to a great start, coming across as very grim classic war film. However, once the subtitles gave way to cheesy American accents the film never really went anywhere. It was unnecessarily complex in parts and Tom Cruise seemed very hard to empathise with... Another six out of ten I'm afraid!!!

Right, it's time for bed. I'm doing nothing all day tomorrow... Great. Bring on the weekend!

Samba!

Hello hello. This is probably the earliest I've ever written a blog... it's only 7pm! Crazy shit. Anyway, I thought I'd post a little blog about this weekend's goings on. On Friday I got up pretty late and met up with Christy, Freshie, Caleb, Chaz and Gus for a little skate in Wendover skatepark. It's a pretty fun park but sadly it was too wet for a proper session. There's a couple of photos from our little trip scattered around the blog... Samba samba! I went home for a quick shower and then headed back out. Friday night was a really good night. Me, Patrick, Chelsey, Edel, and Henrietta went over to Edel's for a few drinks. We all got a bit drunk and then headed over to 'Bob's Barn' in Bierton because we had heard about a party going on there. Even though we got there a bit late it was still all good in the hood because we got in for free and a fair few of our mates were already there!
Unfortunately, I can't find any photos from the party (hence the blog title) so I have drawn a picture to depict what happened:

If you look at the picture you can see that Elliot got in a fight... As usual. It was pretty funny though, Caleb even helped out. We all got home pretty late and I slept over at Edel's and went home in the morning.

Yesterday (Saturday) was a pretty chilling night. Again, we went over to Edel's house, but this time there was about 10 of us there so we played manhunt with the lights off! It was really fun because Edel's house is so huge, and we didn't have any light at all so it was pretty scary! Caleb found the best hiding place of the night, simply lying on one of the work surfaces... Here's a photo (you can only see him because of the flash!)

And that leads to now. Me, Duncan and Big K are off to the cinema for the billionth time. This time we're going to see Valkyrie... I'll let you know what I think of it!
Bye x

Gully!

Another 4am update for anybody who actually reads this thing...
Today's been pretty standard really, just drove about in my car a bit and saw some mates. My main achievement was finishing my video: 'Gully 3'.
For those of you who don't know, every couple of months I make a short video using all the footage off my camera-phone from around that time. It's grainy quality, but still quite funny to watch. Oh and to finish, I throw a sweet grime track over it! However, the latest gully edit is about 5 minutes long because of a serious backlog of phone camera footage! Anyway here's 'Gully 3', complete with some amazing MC'ing from Jason Proctor and Peter Capstick...

You can check out the previous two edits using links on youtube.

Since Freshie's meal nothing exciting has happened really. I bought a pair of shoes and an ipod with my work pay but that's about it, apart from my good friend Duncan came back from his season working at a ski-resort in the alps.... Hooray!

Oh yeah, and of course, we went to the cinema. This time we saw 'Grindhouse'. I didn't have a clue what it was but it turns out it's two Quentin Tarantino films ('Planet Terror' and 'Deathproof') shown consecutively with some 'spoof' cinema adverts in between. It was about 3 and a half hours long but I enjoyed both of the films. I especially liked the second film, 'Deathproof', which is a very simplistic revenge film with a lot of feminist overtones. It's really light-hearted fun stuff though and I recommend it if you get a chance!

Anyway I'm off to bed, it's Friday night tomorrow and I intend on getting thoroughly intoxicated! Night x

Long Time No See!

I feel like I've neglected this blog a little in this last week. It has been a busy week though...

On Thursday me and Big K went to see 'Role Models' at the cinema (yes, we like the cinema!). It was a brilliant film, definitely the best comedy I've seen in ages. It had me laughing the whole way through and has been the butt of many jokes these last few days.

Anyway, today was my good friend Jack Freshwater's birthday. 25 of us went to Frank and Benny's for a meal and it was really good fun. My mate Enda dressed up as a dog/bear/thing and danced whilst Jack got his birthday cake and we all sang happy birthday... Good times!

After the meal about half of us went to see that new 'My Bloody Valentine 3D' film. It sucked! The appeal of the 3D element wears off almost instantly and you're left watching a very low-grade horror film with the worst excuse for a twist you could imagine. Luckily it's one of those films which is SO bad that it's quite funny... We all had a good laugh nonetheless!

And that leads me to now, just about to get into bed. As always I've chucked a few photos from tonight in here for you to marvel at. Peace x

Murked!

Just a quick entry! Last night ended up being quite jokes. Carl, Big K, Annabelle and myself went over to Annabelle's house with the intention of watching a film... even though we never got round to it. At about 2am we heard a banging on the door downstairs. When we went to investigate we heard a sinister groaning coming from outside, so K grabbed a tennis racket and we cautiously headed over to the door...
It turned out to be Caleb who was stupidly drunk and looking for somehwere to stay, so he crashed out on the sofa. A good opportunity can't go missed so we drew all over his face!

So earlier me and K went to see this new film, 'Slumdog Millionaire'. It's probably the best film I've seen all year! which isn't saying much as it's still January, but this film is really good. It's by Danny Boyle who directed 'The Beach' and 'Trainspotting', and it's on a par with both of them. I definitley recommend it!
I'm off to make some bacon sandwiches and watch South Park, peace.

Decks, drugs, and profitterols

Hello!
Right so last night was my good friend Annabelle's leaving meal before she goes back to uni, so about 10 of us all trekked over to the Buglehorn in Stone for dinner. We all got pretty drunk and it was a really good laugh. The walk back home was pretty long and cold but we met up with some mates from the Grammar back in town so it wasn't so bad...

A few of us went back to Annabelle and Edel's house for some more drinks. For anybody who hasn't been, this house is quite something. The family have two houses joined by a corridor; one house being pretty much owned by teenagers! We were all up til gone 5am playing on Martin's decks, playing table-tennis, and just having a laugh basically.

I finally managed to drag myself home around 6am, and proceeded to sleep until about 4 this afternoon. Good times!
I've scattered a few photos from last night's meal throughout this post. I'm pretty happy I managed to find my old SLR now!

Anyway, as tonight is officially Annabelle's last night, a few of us are heading over to the famous house to watch films and have a smoke. Should be nice. I'll try and take a few photos but don't count on anything!

Edification...

No real reason for a post tonight. I'm at that point in the evening when you're not tired enough for bed, but too tired to be doing anything worthwhile... Thank fuck for the internet!
On my last post I mentioned that I watched the film 'Alien'. Well for the last couple of nights I have been watching every film in the saga... Tonight it's the turn the 3rd instalment, 'Alien 3'. It's probably the worst out of the lot. The first two are amazing. But it still makes for some good light entertainment none the less.

On the plus side, watching these films has made me take an interest in the work of 'H.R.Giger'. He's the dude who conceived the aesthetic side of the films, and also the 'Dune' films which I really like. The guy draws some seriously weird stuff! It's undeniably amazing though... I've scattered a couple of his pieces about this post. Just click on them to enlarge!
Right, I'm gonna finish this film and then head to bed. I've fished out my old SLR camera so hopefully I will get a few snaps tomorrow and cobble together a slightly more exciting post. Adios!

ONE MORE THING!
I promised my mates Jack, Big K and Yaz that I'd post links to their blogs, so here you go guys!

Aliens and snow

Where to begin?
I was at my friend's house the other night and was reading my mate Jack's blog. This little event has proven enough inspiration for me to start a blog of my own. However, I'm sure mine wont prove half as charismatic or articulate... And I doubt it will get much love knowing my short attention span.

I'm sat watching the Ridley Scott film 'Alien' at the moment. I haven't watched it in ages and I'm just realising how good it actually is! I still don't think Sigourney Weaver is hot though...

Do you ever have one of those days where you say to yourself "I'm going to get shit sorted"? Well today was one of those days; sending off letters, making phone calls, yada yada. The only problem was my work (Marks & Spencer) decided they would pay me late, so I'm not going to get any money until tomorrow...

Every cloud has a silver lining though. I'm taking a trip to the big LDN (London geez) tomorrow with my friend Annabelle for some retail therapy. Fingers crossed she actually wakes up!

Oh yeah, it snowed today... Good times! I've tried to throw in some optimistic photos I took on my phone this morning. Over and out x

CURRENTLY LISTENING TO:

The Delgados - Coming In From The Cold
The Delgados are a pretty sweet Indie band from up in Scotland... Not bad!

Foamo - Half In Love With Elizabeth Remix
This has to be my favourite remix at the moment! Nothing beats it when you're grinding your teeth...

Rusko - Jahova
I'm really interested by dubstep at the moment, it's such an exciting new genre. I wont pretend to know much about it but here's a classic dub track from the best!

Belle & Sebastian - Simple Things
I'm not the biggest B&S fan but I've been listening to a lot more of them lately. Classic.

Portishead - Roads
Last, but very much not least, is Portishead. For a 90's group they don't sound 90's at all, they're still fresh and have been seeing me through these winter weeks nicely!
